Ulisse Mazzon, born in San Donà di Piave in 1999, is a violinist and absolute winner of international competitions (among the most recent: "Postacchini" Competition 2025, "Gubitosi" Competition 2023, "Massimo Marin" Competition 2022, "Città di Treviso" Competition 2022, "Città di Padova" Prize 2020).
He has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, the Arrigoni String Academy, the orchestra of the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna, the orchestra of the University of Graz/Oberschützen, the Bacau Philharmonic Orchestra, the Master Orchestra of Brescia, the Kyiv Virtuosi Orchestra, and the Nuova Orchestra Busoni, with which in 2020 he recorded Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 1 K. 207.
Former student of Prof. Regina Brandstätter at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Graz-Oberschützen and of Maestro Salvatore Accardo at the Stauffer Academy in Cremona and the Chigiana Academy in Siena, after completing high school he was admitted at the age of 19 to the Orchesterakademie der Wiener Philharmoniker. Thanks to this, he currently performs as a substitute with the Vienna Philharmonic and renowned musicians (Harding, Gergiev, Thielemann, Dudamel, Kissin, Muti, Barenboim, Welser-Möst, etc.) in the world's most prestigious concert halls (Wiener Musikverein, Wiener Konzerthaus, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Carnegie Hall, Tokyo Suntory Hall, Salzburger Großes Festspielhaus, etc.), recording for radio-television broadcasters and record labels such as ORF, RAI, Sony, and Deutsche Grammophon.
Encouraged by artists such as Kavakos, Repin, Honeck, Midori, Amoyal, Frischenschlager, and regarded as possessing "great musical and technical qualities: magnificent intonation, warm and powerful sound, brilliant technique, pure musicality" (S. Accardo), he continues his musical training with Albena Danailova, concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic (MdW Vienna), and with Maestro Pavel Berman.
Frequently serving as concertmaster himself, he is also active in chamber music; he regularly performs in duo with his sister, cellist Maria Mafalda Mazzon. Together they won first prize at the Euregio Chamber Music Competition (Trento 2024) and attend chamber music courses with Maestro B. Giuranna at the Chigiana Academy in Siena and with Prof. F. Repini at the Luigi Bon Foundation.
He has also shared the stage with Maestri such as Giuranna, Accardo, Meneses, Berman, and with his brother Raimondo Mazzon.
